Greg Marley is the founder of and the force behind Mushrooms for Health. He has been collecting, studying, eating, growing and teaching mushrooms for over 35 years. Marley has spread his passionate love of mushrooms to hundreds through walks, talks and classes held across New England and beyond over the past 20 years. Mushrooms for Health is a small company providing mushroom education and products made with Maine medicinal mushrooms. Marley is the author ofMushrooms for Health; Medicinal Secrets of Northeastern Fungi, (Down East Books , 2009) and the award-winning Chanterelle Dreams, Amanita Nightmares; The Love Lore and Mystique of Mushrooms, (Chelsea Green, 2010). He has published an email newsletter on mushrooms for the past 6 years and is the author of numerous journal and magazine articles on mushrooms. Marley is a volunteer mushroom identification consultant to Poison Control Centers across New England, providing expertise in mushroom poisoning cases. A frequent lecturer to college groups and a mushrooming foray faculty member, Greg enjoys creating opportunities to spread his passion for mushrooms. When not mushrooming, Marley, a clinical social worker gives training and technical support directed toward suicide prevention through the Maine Youth Suicide Prevention Program. At home in Rockland, Maine he is the chief cook and bottle washer and reputed to keep an awfully messy office.
